Court rejects Henderson man’s appeal in bank fraud case

CARSON CITY — A Henderson man convicted in a bank fraud case involving millions of dollars has lost an appeal to the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.

The court rejected the appeal of Brent Lovett, who was sentenced to 98 months in prison in 2013 for making false statements to obtain a commercial loan from the Lockheed Federal Credit Union, according to court records.

Lovett obtained a $7.5 million loan for a building, kept $1.3 million for himself and then allowed the building to go into foreclosure, according to court records. He was convicted by a jury in Las Vegas in February 2013.
