Bishop Gorman High School’s Tyjon Lindsey (25)makes a pass reception and runs into the end zone during a game against Chandler (Ariz.) High School at Bishop Gorman Saturday, Aug. 29, 2015. Bishop Gorman beat Chandler 35-14.

Wide receiver Tyjon Lindsey is back in Las Vegas, and he may be back with the Bishop Gorman High football team.

The Los Angeles Times reported today that Lindsey, a five-star recruit who helped Gorman win the past two national championships, was missing from practice at Centennial Corona in Southern California.

He transferred from Gorman last winter to his native Southern California, where he expected to play his senior season.

That was until this week.

Lindsey, who had 45 catches for 1,117 yards and 14 touchdowns in 2015, is back at Gorman. It’s unknown if he has been cleared to join the team.

Gorman coach Kenny Sanchez, when reached Tuesday night, said he couldn’t comment. Centennial assistant principal Bill Gunn told USA Today that transfer paperwork has not been submitted, meaning Gorman hasn't been able to turn in his information to the Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association to grant eligibility.

NIAA rules dictate an athlete have 10 practices before playing in a game. Gorman opens Aug. 27 at Cedar Hill of Texas.

If Lindsey is eligible, he makes a Gorman — a consensus preseason top-5 team — a contender to win another national title. He joins a receiving group that includes top 2018 tight end Brevin Jordan, three-year varsity performer Austin Arnold and emerging junior Jalen Nailor.
