letters to the editor:

For sake of nation’s prosperity, elect a Democrat

Lying Donald continually lies by omission and exaggeration. He is quick to point out numbers such as America’s trade deficit in only one category, never mentioning our very significant offsetting trade surpluses. Unlike the Clintons and every other presidential candidate for the past 40 past years, Donald Trump refuses to disclose his tax returns. What is he hiding?

At the Republican National Convention, everything Americans heard from the Party of No was about party unity and the unjust denigration of Hillary Clinton. The gathering of Republicans in Cleveland was mute on the subject of past Republican greatness.

Rare was the moment when those present rallied around The Donald. The only modern-day examples of greatness they could rely upon were the accomplishment of our past two Democratic presidents. In 1993, Democratic President Bill Clinton inherited a serious recession from Republican President George H.W. Bush. Over his next eight years, Clinton’s administration was credited with adding 22 million jobs, increasing wages and, for the first time in three decades, running a budget surplus. Then President Barack Obama inherited from George W. Bush the worst recession in modern history; month after month 800,000 Americans were losing their jobs. All of those jobs — 14 million — and more have been restored.

Stop all of the lying and get real. Better yet, make America even greater and elect another Democrat.
