Six people suffer smoke inhalation in apartment fire

Three adults and three children were taken to a hospital with minor smoke inhalation after a fire at a central valley apartment early today, according to Las Vegas Fire & Rescue.

The blaze was reported about 5 a.m. at the Regency Place Apartments, 2800 S. Decatur Blvd., near Sahara Avenue, fire officials said. The fire, which caused about $75,000 in damage, was confined to a second-story unit.

Six family members were taken to University Medical Center for evaluation, officials said. The Southern Nevada chapter of the American Red Cross was assisting the family, officials said.

The blaze remains under investigation.
