She was hospitalized and treated for minor smoke inhalation and is expected to be OK, according to fire officials. Fire damage was estimated at $15,000.

Also according to officials:

Crews responded to the second-story kitchen fire about 2 a.m. at the Residence at Canyon Lakes Condos, 2200 S. Fort Apache Road near Sahara Avenue.

Firefighters found the woman, who was covered in soot, on a bed.

Investigators determined the fire was caused by a stove that was accidentally left on. The woman told investigators she did not hear the fire alarm.
