A man was shot and killed outside a Henderson apartment complex Monday afternoon, police said.

At 1:20 p.m., Henderson police responded to multiple emergency calls from the Villas at Green Valley complex, 2362 N. Green Valley Pkwy., police spokeswoman Michelle French said. The callers claimed they heard gunshots.

Arriving police found a 26-year-old man with a gunshot wound, French said. He died shortly after.

No one else was injured during the shooting.

French said police are searching for the shooter.

Eastbound lanes of La Mesa Drive near Green Valley Parkway will be closed for "several hours," French said.

The man’s name and cause of death will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office once he has been positively identified and his family notified.

This is the second homicide investigated by Henderson Police this year.
