Democrats hold majority over GOP in Nevada registered voters

CARSON CITY — Democrats outnumber Republicans in Clark County, but the GOP holds the majority of voters in the state’s other 16 counties.

Secretary of State Barbara Cegavske today released statewide registered voter totals showing Democrats hold the majority over Republicans statewide, 471,342 to 423,308.

The rest of the voters in Nevada are distributed among nonpartisans and the Independent American, Libertarian and other parties, bringing the statewide total to 1,203,905.

Mineral County, which formerly held a Democratic majority, now has more Republicans — 1,108 compared to 1,055 Democrats.

The Democratic majority in Clark County swings the state to that party. There are 350,534 Democrats to 254,347 Republicans in the Las Vegas area.
