Metro Police having trouble with 911, 311 lines

The Metro Police dispatch center is experiencing troubles with calls to its 911 and 311 lines and is redirecting them to other police departments.

The problem was reported at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Metro said in a news release.

Also according to the release:

Calls to 911 are being directed to the North Las Vegas and Henderson police departments. Callers trying to reach that line might experience “longer than normal delays.”

Callers were advised to only contact police for “true emergencies,” and officers are not being sent to non-emergency or report calls until the problem is fixed. Technicians do not have an estimate on when that would happen.
