Thanks to Obama for protecting us from gun violence

Thank you, President Obama, for your courage in taking a stand against the proliferation of gun violence and protecting the rights of the innocent and unarmed. The abundance of guns and easy access to guns have a taken a huge and tragic toll on society.

You are not preventing people from having access to guns. You are simply upgrading the requirements for gun purchases. You are acting in a morally responsible way.

Thank you for your conscientiousness, President Obama, especially given that loud and powerful special interest groups such as the NRA, gun manufacturers and anti-regulation conservatives seem to not want any sensible gun laws. Typically, they care more about making exorbitant profits and their own rights instead of balancing this with society’s right to be protected from escalating, uncontrolled gun violence.
