Updated Saturday, Feb. 6, 2016 | 6:55 p.m.

A man who was shot and killed, allegedly by his father, on Friday in a dispute was identified Saturday by the Clark County Coroner's Office.

Devry Moore, 22, of Las Vegas, died from multiple gunshot wounds in the chest, coroner's office staff said.

First responders were dispatched shortly before 4 p.m. to the 1500 block of Keifer Valley Street, near Cimarron Road and Mountains Edge Parkway, according to Metro Police.

Also according to police:

It began as an altercation hours before the shooting. Just before the shooting, the son attacked the father with a 12-inch knife, stabbing him four times.

The 40-year-old father, who was severely injured but was in stable condition at University Medical Center, responded by shooting his son multiple times.

Family members were at home, and some of them witnessed parts of the fight.

Police initially said Devry Moore was 19. The investigation is in its preliminary stages, and it wasn't clear whether the father will face charges.
