Vandals target Reno church’s ‘Black Lives Matter’ sign

The minister of a Reno church says a "Black Lives Matter" sign at his church has been vandalized several times since he put it up in August.

The Reno Gazette-Journal reported Friday (http://on.rgj.com/1QkcObs) that the Rev. Neal Anderson keeps replacing the sign the Unitarian Universality Church of Northern Nevada in south Reno.

He also added security cameras that captured two men cutting the sign with box cutters on Wednesday.

Anderson says he reported the incidents, which have included writing "white lives matter" on the sign over the Martin Luther King Jr. Day weekend. Police have had no formal comment.

Rabbi Ethan Bair at Temple Sinai in Reno says his similar banner was also stolen over the holiday.

Anderson says his congregation is disappointed about the vandalism, but they will keep putting the sign up.
