Second driver in January red-light crash dies

A motorist who ran a red light last month and collided with a car, killing the other driver, has also died, according to Metro Police.

Victor Javier Sandoval, 33, of Las Vegas died Sunday, police said.

Sandoval was driving an SUV east on Spring Mountain Road, west of Rainbow Boulevard, at a “high rate of speed” about 3 a.m. on Jan. 27 when he ran a red light and crashed into the car, police said.

The other driver, Jenio T. Eugenio, 43, of Las Vegas was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Sandoval was taken to University Medical Center, where he died, police said. He was suspected of driving under the influence, police said.
