A former North Las Vegas music teacher was arrested Monday for having inappropriate contact with two female students at Somerset Academy’s Centennial Parkway campus, police said.

Also according to police:

William Crawford, 49, was booked into Las Vegas City Jail on two counts of lewdness with a minor under 14. He had inappropriate physical contact with two 12-year-old girls at the school.

The incidents occurred in October 2012 and were reported in June 2014. North Las Vegas detectives obtained an arrest warrant two weeks ago.

Spokesman Aaron Patty said a police investigation took “several months” as detectives established probable cause for Crawford’s arrest. Investigating Crawford took longer than usual because there were multiple victims, he said.

North Las Vegas police ask anyone with additional information to call the department at 702-633-9111. To remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
