NLV police find van linked to fatal hit-and-run of 2-year-old girl

North Las Vegas police have located a van they say was connected to the hit-and-run death of a 2-year-old girl Sunday.

However, no arrests have been made and city police are seeking the public's aid in providing more information on the case.

Also according to police:

Shortly before 6 p.m., Evelyn Green was walking in the 3400 block of Thomas Avenue, near East Lake Mead Boulevard and North Pecos Road, when she was struck by a white van whose driver fled.

Witnesses described the van as having no windows and said the driver was a man who appeared to be Hispanic, in his 40s and with facial hair.

The girl's family took her to North Vista Hospital, where she died.

About 100 people gathered Monday for a vigil in which Evelyn was remembered, but also where tension escalated as family argued who was at fault for her death. Several officers responded to the scene.
