Police are seeking a man and a woman last seen in a gray pickup truck connected to a fatal shooting in the east valley, according to Metro Police.

The shooting might have stemmed from an argument over money owed, Metro Lt. Dan McGrath said.

Also according to police:

First responders were called shortly after 1:30 p.m. to the front yard of a house in the 2900 block of Kennewick Drive, near Vegas Valley Drive and Mojave Road.

Arriving personnel found a man, only described to be in his early 40s, who had been shot once in the upper torso and had difficulty breathing.

He died at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center.

The argument about money had been ongoing and some threats had been made. The two people had been in and out of the truck through the day.

The slain man lived in a house with a few other people, and the woman police are looking for at one point lived there, too.

Detectives questioned several witnesses and they acquired the first names of the people involved. The shooting was not considered to be random.

A woman who didn't identify herself told the Las Vegas Sun about the neighborhood: "It's normal around here. You never know if it's a car backfiring or a gunshot."

She said that however the violence extends throughout the valley.

The neighborhood is calm and nothing similar has happened in the eight years, said a man who only identified himself as Francisco.
