Man, 22, arrested on DUI count in fatal car crash

A 61-year-old Las Vegas man was killed in a car crash this morning in the south valley, and another driver was arrested on a DUI count, according to Metro Police.

A Cadillac Deville headed west on Russell Road about 1:20 a.m. ran a red light at Decatur Boulevard and collided with a Toyota Corolla, police said.

The driver of the Toyota was taken to University Medical Center and pronounced dead, police said. His name was not released, pending notification of his family.

The 22-year-old man driving the Cadillac, Kristoffer Leigh of Las Vegas, was arrested on a count of driving under the influence resulting in death, police said.

Leigh and a 21-year-old passenger both suffered minor injuries, police said.
