Woman hit by pickup truck in crosswalk dies

A woman hit by a pickup truck Wednesday morning while crossing the street with her husband and their dog has died, according to Metro Police.

On Thursday, the Clark County Coroner’s Office reported the death of Flora Largusa, 57, of Las Vegas, police said.

The woman and her husband, Jerry Largusa, 56, were in a crosswalk on Del Ray Avenue about 5:30 a.m. Wednesday when they were hit by a pickup truck turning left from Rainbow Boulevard, police said.

The couple were taken to University Medical Center. Jerry Largusa suffered nonlife-threatening injuries, police said.

The driver of the truck, a 37-year-old Henderson man, remained at the scene and was not impaired, police said.

It was the 19th traffic fatality in Metro’s jurisdiction this year.
