Seven people displaced, rabbit killed in Henderson fire

Two adults and five children were displaced after their home caught fire Saturday night.

The fire was reported about 6:20 p.m. on Liverpool Avenue, near East Sunset Road and Boulder Highway, according to the Henderson Fire Department.

Fire crews arrived to find flames and smoke coming from the garage of the two-story home and were able to extinguish the fire before it spread to the rest of the house.

All family members safely exited the home without injury, but a pet rabbit died due to smoke inhalation, according to Henderson Fire.

Fire officials determined the cause of the fire to be electrical, and damages were estimated at $90,000.
