A second Cracker Barrel Old Country Store will be opening this summer in the Las Vegas Valley with its homestyle food and Americana decor, county officials announced today.

Two restaurants will be opening in July at 8350 Dean Martin Drive, near the Silverton, and at 2815 E. Craig Road in North Las Vegas, officials said.

The 9,113-square-foot Las Vegas location will seat 180 customers and employ about 175 workers. It also will include an additional 1,284-square-foot porch — perfect for the eatery’s signature rocking chairs.

The Silverton announced the Las Vegas restaurant in December, though a Cracker Barrel spokeswoman declined to confirm the plans until all the required permits were in place.

The restaurant will be a freestanding building that is not connected to the hotel but will be part of the “overall Silverton Casino Hotel development,” Silverton Director of Communications Kimiko Peterson said previously.

The closest Cracker Barrel to Las Vegas right now is in Kingman, Ariz.

“Cracker Barrel is a culinary institution in many parts of the country, and I’m happy to finally welcome them to Las Vegas,” Clark County Commission Chairman Steve Sisolak said in a statement. “With more than 600 stores in what will soon be 43 states, obviously they’ve found a recipe for success with the stores’ country comforts.”

The restaurant serves up meals including a chicken and dumplings platter with vegetables, U.S. farm-raised catfish and sugar-cured ham.

Cracker Barrel was founded in Lebanon, Tenn., in 1969 and serves breakfast all day. Each restaurant displays American artifacts, memorabilia and signs collected by a team of experts, and features a country store, officials said.
