Fire causes $12,000 in damage to southeast valley house

Fire broke out in the garage of a southeast valley house this morning, causing an estimated $12,000 in damage, according to the Clark County Fire Department.

Crews were called about 8:45 a.m. to the house in the 3500 block of East Oreana Avenue, near East Hacienda Avenue and South Pecos Road, where smoke could be seen coming from the garage, the fire department said in a news release.

No one was injured.

Crews quickly extinguished the fire before it could spread, Deputy Fire Chief Jeff Buchanan said. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
