Woman, 37, thrown from car, killed in crash

Updated Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2016 | 2:42 p.m.

A 37-year-old woman died in a single-car crash early this morning after she was ejected from the vehicle, authorities said.

The woman was driving east on Summerlin Parkway, just west of Rampart Boulevard, about 12:30 a.m. when she lost control and went off the road, spokesman Trooper Jason Buratczuk said.

She overcorrected, causing the car to roll into the center median and ejecting the driver, who was not wearing a seat belt, Buratczuk said. The woman, identified by the Clark County Coroner's Office as Stacey Palmer of Las Vegas, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators determined speed was a factor in the crash, Buratczuk said.
