An SUV believed to be carrying suspects from a northwest valley burglary crashed into another vehicle after fleeing a traffic stop this afternoon, injuring six people including a pedestrian, according to Metro Police.

Police were called about 1:15 p.m. to the 4100 block of North Compass Rose Way, near North Rainbow Boulevard and West Alexander Road, where a caller reported several males removing items from a house, Officer Laura Meltzer said.

The suspects left in an SUV before officers arrived, but police located a similar vehicle near Rainbow and Alexander, she said.

Officers tried to stop the SUV, which had three passengers, but it took off, running a red light, according to police.

Also according to police:

Officers didn’t chase the SUV, and it later crashed into another vehicle at the intersection of West Cheyenne Avenue and North Rancho Drive.

A pedestrian was struck by debris from the crash, which left at least one person trapped in a vehicle.

Two people were injured in the vehicle that was hit, and they were taken to the hospital, as was the pedestrian.

The three suspects were also taken to the hospital, and no one involved in the incident has injuries believed to be life-threatening.

One of the people injured is a juvenile.

The intersection was blocked, and a tow truck was dispatched to retrieve both vehicles, according to police and the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada.

The suspects are expected to face charges.
