Updated Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2016 | 10:49 p.m.

More than 1,800 NV Energy customers were without power due to outages in the Henderson area Wednesday evening, according to the company.

One reported incident near Sunset Road and Green Valley Parkway was affecting 1,565 customers, and another near Green Valley and Warm Springs Road left 251 without service as of about 7:15 p.m., according to the NV Energy Outage Center website.

The outages were reported about 6:40 p.m., and they were expected to be resolved by 12:30 a.m., according to the site.

Several smaller outages were also reported in the area.

Power was restored to a vast majority of customers as of about 10:45 p.m., according to the site.

The company said equipment failure was to blame for most customers losing power, though the Outage Center later listed the cause as "under investigation."
