Pedestrian killed near Lone Mountain, Camino Al Norte

A 44-year-old man died Sunday morning after he was hit by a car while crossing the street to catch a bus.

According to North Las Vegas Police:

At 6:15 a.m., officers were called to the scene at the intersection of Lone Mountain Road and Camino Al Norte, where they found a man suffering from injuries.

He was taken to University Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.

Witnesses at the scene say the man exited the northbound bus in a hurry and was crossing Camino Al Norte from east to west, outside of a marked crosswalk, to catch his next bus when he was struck by a car traveling north.

The 18-year-old driver of the car stayed on scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

Northbound Camino Al Norte was closed as police investigated the incident but was reopened around 9 a.m.
