Henderson Police say a patrol car was shot up on July 4, 2016, while parked at the Henderson Animal Care and Control Facility, 300 E. Galleria Drive.

Henderson Police are looking for leads after a half dozen shots were fired into an unoccupied patrol car on the Fourth of July, city officials said.

The damage to the car, which was parked at the Henderson Animal Care and Control Facility, 300 E. Galleria Drive, was discovered the next morning, police said.

Nobody was injured.

“In today’s climate, we take these incidents seriously as officer safety is of utmost importance,” Police Chief Patrick E. Moers said in a news release. “We ask our community members to continue to work with us and to be our eyes and ears on the street. If you see something, say something.”
