Death of woman found in desert ruled a homicide

The death of a woman whose body was found in the desert at Lake Mead National Recreation Area on Monday has been ruled a homicide, according to Metro Police.

National Park Service rangers were alerted about 8 a.m. to the woman’s body, which had obvious signs of trauma, police said. The woman has not yet been identified, and the motive for the slaying has not been determined, police said.
