Authorities say a Las Vegas woman found at the beach in the Lake Mead National Recreation Area was stabbed to death.
The Clark County coroner's office identified her today as 61-year-old Kathleen Mary Ploutz.
Her body was found Monday with multiple stab wounds and cuts. Her death was ruled a homicide.
Metro Police are investigating the slaying.
Officials said it appears to be an isolated incident but won't say if an attack actually took place where she was found, in the middle section of the popular Boulder Beach area that is used for special events.
A National Parks Service spokeswoman said Lake Mead remains open.
