Man dies at Northern Nevada prison hospital

A man died Sunday at the Northern Nevada Correctional Center in Carson City, according to Nevada Department of Corrections.

Guadalupe Orozco, 56, died about 10:30 p.m. at the prison’s Regional Medical Facility, officials said. An autopsy was planned to determine the cause of death, officials said.

Orozco was committed from Lyon County on Oct. 28, 1994, and was serving 12 years, 11 months to life with the possibly of parole for sexual assault, battery causing substantial bodily harm and child abuse causing substantial bodily harm, officials said.
