Metro Police are trying to identify a man they say unsuccessfully tried breaking into an east valley house a month ago.
Home security caught the man ringing the doorbell, leaving, returning and removing a window screen, police said. He fled the area when he couldn't open a window.
Officers were called to investigate near Sahara Avenue and Sloan Lane on June 29, police said.
The would-be burglar is described as a black man 25 to 30 years old who stands 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-9 tall and weighs about 160 pounds, police said. He was seen wearing a white T-shirt, tan pants and black shoes with white stripes.
He was further described as having a tattoo on his right shoulder, police said.
