Reno city manager hits back at sexual harassment claims

Reno's city manager is denying allegations that he sexually harassed three women and wants the issue addressed publicly.

City Manager Andrew Clinger said in a statement Saturday that charges that he committed sexual harassment are "utterly ridiculous."

The Reno Gazette-Journal reports (http://on.rgj.com/2aSHKDL) Clinger also called for an open meeting with the Reno City Council.

He also wants City Attorney Karl Hall to release results of an initial investigation into the complaints.

Three women have filed a joint sexual harassment complaint.

Their lawyer sent a letter to the Nevada Attorney General's Office on Friday, accusing the city of trying to conceal the allegations from public scrutiny.

City Council members say a second investigation is ongoing.
