Woman who stole from ex-‘SNL’ cast member gets probation

MORRISTOWN, N.J. — A woman who helped her bookkeeper husband steal $234,500 from former "Saturday Night Live" cast member Joe Piscopo has been spared a prison term.

Jennifer Larocca instead was sentenced to three years of probation on Friday. That came one week after her husband received a three-year state prison term.

The New Jersey woman had pleaded guilty in February to theft.

Prosecutors say Piscopo hired Frank Larocca to pay the comedian's bills and manage his bank account. The thefts occurred between February 2010 and March 2014.

Authorities say the couple was dealing with serious financial problems and used the money for personal expenses. They say the couple has agreed to make full restitution and have already paid back nearly $64,000.

Piscopo's run on "SNL" lasted from 1980 to 1984.
