Police probe death of man found in Laughlin as homicide

LAUGHLIN — Police say the death of a man whose body was found overnight near a pedestrian roadway overpass in the Colorado River resort town of Laughlin is being investigated as a homicide.

Metro Police spokesman Michael Rodriguez said a passer-by called police about 2 a.m. Wednesday to the area off Casino Drive and State Route 163.

The identity of the dead man wasn't immediately made public.

Rodriguez says he appeared to have been in his 50s, and the circumstances of his death were considered suspicious. The police spokesman wouldn't be more specific.

Metro covers Laughlin, about 100 miles south of Las Vegas.
