Bail was set at $500,000 for a 20-year-old accused of shooting four people early May 29 on a downtown Las Vegas sidewalk.

Defense attorney Roy Nelson couldn't immediately be reached Thursday to say whether Steven Demond Burks could raise the bond money ahead of a June 27 preliminary hearing.

Police say Burks told investigators he used Pierre Terrell Devlin's gun to shoot from Devlin's car while Devlin drove.

Devlin remains jailed on $250,000 bail pending a preliminary hearing June 20.

Burks was arrested last weekend, becoming the second man to face attempted murder, battery, conspiracy and weapon charges. Police say the shooting followed argument on a sidewalk on Ogden Avenue at 3rd Street.

Authorities say two of the wounded were from Queensland, Australia, and two were from Las Vegas.
