Disabled Las Vegas teen featured in new anti-Trump ad

A new digital ad from a pro-Hillary Clinton super PAC features a 17-year-old cancer survivor from Las Vegas juxtaposed with Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump appearing to mock a disabled reporter.

In the ad, Dante Latchman says he “spent his whole life fighting back” after being diagnosed with a rare form of cancer on his spinal cord as a 1-year-old that left him disabled. The ad then cuts to a clip of Trump appearing to mimic the body movements of a New York Times reporter with a physical disability.

“I don’t want a president who makes fun of me,” Latchman says. “I want a president who inspires me, and that’s not Donald Trump.”

Trump has denied he was mocking the reporter, Serge Kovaleski.

The $500,000 digital ad buy will run on Facebook, Instagram and Pandora in Nevada and seven other battleground states between now and the Republican National Convention in Cleveland next month.

The ad from Priorities USA Action is part of a larger multimillion-dollar “Stop Trump/Stop Hate” campaign targeting millennial voters.
