Updated Friday, June 24, 2016 | 6:15 p.m.

A man was shot and killed early this morning at an apartment complex just east of the Strip, according to Metro Police.

Officers responded about 1 a.m. to the 3500 block of Paradise Road, near Desert Inn Road, Officer Jesse Roybal said.

Upon arrival, officers found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds inside an apartment. He was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, where he later died, Roybal said. The man’s identity will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.

Investigation shows the man was at his apartment when he got into a confrontation with a suspect, police said. It escalated when the suspect shot him and fled the scene.

Evidence at the scene indicates that the shooting may have been narcotics related, police said.

This is the 82nd homicide investigated this year by Metro Police.
