The heat on Saturday should feel tepid compared with the wave that’s expected in the next several days.
However, relief could arrive the middle of next week in the form of the first "monsoon-related event" of the season, possibly extending from Arizona to the Las Vegas Valley, National Weather Service meteorologist Todd Lericos said.
It was 105 degrees in Las Vegas at 3 p.m. Saturday, near the peak temperature for the day, he said.
Sunday's forecast calls for a high of 110, followed by 111 Monday and 109 Tuesday, Lericos said.
The normal daily high for this time of year is about 101.
