Woman sought in Hawaii slaying is arrested in Las Vegas

A woman wanted for second-degree murder in Hawaii was arrested this morning in Las Vegas, authorities said.

Patricia Wong, 54, was taken into custody by U.S. Marshals near Tropicana Avenue and Paradise Road, officials said in a news release. She was booked into Clark County Detention Center and will be extradited to Hawaii.

Police in Puna, Hawaii, said Wong was indicted by a grand jury for second-degree murder in the 2009 homicide death of Kaycee M. Smith, another resident of the island.
