A North Las Vegas police officer was shot at this morning by one of three men in a vehicle he was pursuing, according to city police.

Officers were called to a disturbance in the 4800 block of Partegus Street at about 9 a.m., police spokesman Aaron Patty said.

At least one suspect fired a weapon from the small gray SUV toward the direction of the officer’s car, Patty said. The officer did not return fire and was not struck.

“He’s doing very good and we’re very thankful for that,” Patty said.

The three men fled from the vehicle to the area near Craig Road and Decatur Boulevard. One man was arrested. The two others stole a GMC Sierra that was pulling a landscaping trailer and eluded police.

Westbound Craig just past Decatur remained closed about 12:45 p.m. Investigators combed through the SUV, which remained in the middle of the road. The vehicle has front-end damage and at least one flat tire.
