Poll shows Clinton, Trump in dead heat in Nevada

Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are in a dead heat in Nevada, according to a poll released today that shows the Democratic and Republican presumptive nominees for president each with 44 percent support.

Another 9 percent of respondents said they would support Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson.

The poll, conducted by the Democratic polling firm Greenberg Quinlan Rosner for Democracy Corps and Women’s Voices Women Vote Action Fund, sampled 2,700 voters across nine battleground states, including 300 in Nevada, in mid-June.

The margin of error for the state sample was 5.66 percentage points.

Overall, the poll showed Clinton leading across the nine battleground states by 7 points. It also showed her leading by 81 points among African American voters and 44 points among Hispanic voters.

Nevada was one of four “diverse” states looked at in the poll. In the other three states, Clinton led by 11 points in Florida and 10 points in North Carolina, but trailed by 6 points in Arizona.

Among the diverse states, Trump had a 30 point advantage with white men and a 15 point advantage with white women who haven’t attended college.

The poll also showed Republican U.S. Senate candidate Joe Heck leading Democratic candidate Catherine Cortez Masto by 5 points.
