Parts of Caesars Palace were evacuated early today because of a fire that sent three workers to the hospital with smoke inhalation and caused about $180,000 in damage, according to the Clark County Fire Department.
The fire started about 3:30 a.m. at the top of an escalator and spread to curtains in a ballroom, officials said.
As smoke spread toward the casino, people were evacuated from nearby shops and part of the Palace Tower, officials said. Everyone has since been allowed to return, officials said.
It took about 25 minutes to put out the fire, which was stopped from spreading to other areas of the resort, officials said.
The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
