A fire broke out early this morning at a PetSmart in Henderson, but none of 80 animals at the pet store were injured, according to the Henderson Fire Department.
An employee working overnight discovered the fire about 1 a.m. at the store at 286 W. Lake Mead Parkway, officials said.
Firefighters found smoking coming from a laundry room and determined the source was a clothes dryer, officials said. A fire sprinkler system was activated and helped contain the fire, officials said.
The store was closed at the time. Damage was estimated at $5,000, official said.
