Customers attending events at the new T-Mobile Arena will need to pay at least $10 to park in certain spots nearby, according to MGM Resorts International.

Starting with the arena’s debut next week, eventgoers will be charged for “reserved event parking” at garages at New York-New York and Monte Carlo as well as the Aria Event Parking Garage, per a recent message to ticketholders. The 20,000-seat arena, which is operated by MGM Resorts, will open to the public next Wednesday with a Killers concert, followed by concerts from Nicki Minaj and Guns N’ Roses later in the week.

Event parking by the arena will cost $10 in advance, and more on the day of the show. Customers can also pay $30 for valet parking at New York-New York and Monte Carlo, according to the message, which was first reported by edgevegas.com.

While the fees come as MGM Resorts prepares to start charging for parking across its Strip casino properties, company spokesman Gordon Absher said the arena reserved parking is separate from that broader policy.

“Reserved Event Parking is an upgrade available for those who want to park as close as possible to the arena,” Absher said in an email. “We still have tens of thousands of free parking spaces available within easy walking distance of the T-Mobile Arena.”

Registered hotel guests will be able to access the garages by the arena for free, but all others will have to pay for parking from 4 to 11 p.m. on event days, according to Absher.

MGM Resorts said previously that paid parking across its Strip properties would be implemented between the beginning of April and the end of June, but the company hasn’t announced a date. Once the fees are in place, all guests at the company’s Strip resorts will pay $10 or less for overnight self-parking, the company has said.

The Strip-wide fees are coming as MGM Resorts rolls out a $90 million parking initiative that includes building a 3,000-space garage by Excalibur and introducing improvements at the company’s existing parking facilities.
