Foothill High product and NFL Draft hopeful Miles Killebrew showed off his speed at Southern Utah’s pro day on Wednesday.

Killebrew ran a 4.49 second 40-yard dash, improving his time from February’s NFL Combine by 0.16 seconds — a significant difference.

Killebrew didn’t attempt other events at the Southern Utah event because he already had posted solid scores during the combine.

He led all safeties with 22 bench press reps at 225 pounds, and was second in the vertical jump at 38 inches. He was third in the broad jump at 127 inches and three-cone drill in 6.93 seconds.

Mike Mayock of NFL.com has Killebrew ranked as the fourth best safety in the draft after amassing 243 tackles in his final two years at Southern Utah, including 132 as a senior. He also earned all-conference recognition in each of his four seasons.

Leshaun Sims, another Las Vegas native who graduated from Andre Agassi Prep, also participated in Southern Utah’s pro day. Sims jumped 124 inches in the broad jump – a four-inch improvement from his showing at the NFL Combine.

Sims is currently ranked as the 30th best cornerback in the draft by CBS, and is projected as a late-round pick. He earned second-team all-state honors as both a wide receiver and a defensive back at Agassi Prep in 2010.
