Fire does $200K in damage at southwest valley home

A fire Sunday caused about $200,000 in damage to a southwest valley home, according to the Clark County Fire Department.

The department responded at 11:19 a.m. to a fire at 6069 Sundown Ridge St. in Las Vegas, where smoke was coming up from the attic vents, spokesman John Steinbeck said. Arriving firefighters encountered heavy flames coming from the two-story house.

Twenty-six department personnel were involved in the response, Steinbeck said, adding that an investigation into the cause is underway.
