A decomposing body was found in the trunk of a car in the south valley Wednesday morning, according to Metro Police.
Police were dispatched about 10:20 a.m. to the 3900 block of Villeroy Avenue, near Valley View Boulevard south of Cactus Avenue, Metro spokeswoman office Laura Meltzer said.
The sedan, which was parked on the street, was unoccupied and it appears that the person had been dead for "some time" based on the level of decomposition, police said. Information on age and gender of the body was not immediately available.
Homicide detectives were called to investigate, police said.
