2 arrested for neglect after Fernley boy’s disappearance

FERNLEY — Authorities have arrested two people in connection with the overnight disappearance of an 8-year-old Fernley boy who has since been found.

Lyon County Sheriff's officials say 24-year-old William Michael McLean and 43-year-old Betty Sue Bond were arrested Saturday on suspicion of child neglect.

They are being held on bail.

The sheriff's office says Bond also had an outstanding warrant.

It was not immediately known if either McLean or Bond had an attorney.

Sheriff's spokesman Michael Carlson did not give details as to what led to their arrests or their relationship to 8-year-old Camron Ritchson.

Search teams spent the night canvassing places for him.

He was found unharmed Saturday morning about a block from where he was last seen.
