A man was arrested after he allegedly shot and killed another man late Friday near a Las Vegas Strip parking garage.

Charles Smith, 27, of Las Vegas, was booked on one count of first-degree murder at the Clark County Detention Center, jail logs show.

Officers were called about 11:25 p.m. to the Caesars Palace employee parking garage near Frank Sinatra Drive and Jay Sarno Way, Metro Police said.

The slain man, who was found near a van in which he had apparently been shot, died from multiple wounds at the scene. The van had been parked there for at least two hours, police said.

Information about the relationship between Smith and the slain man wasn't available.

A witness told police where Smith was, still inside the garage, and he was arrested.
