A man Metro Police say drove onto a sidewalk and killed a bicyclist Sunday night has been identified as Luis Antonio Aguilar-Lujan, 43, of Las Vegas, according to police records.
Aguilar-Lujan remained at the Clark County Detention Center today. He was booked on one count each of DUI and failing to stop at the scene of a crash, jail records show.
No bail has been set.
Officers were called about 8:45 p.m. to Torrey Pines Drive near Charleston Boulevard, police said.
Aguilar-Lujan was driving a pickup truck when he drove onto a sidewalk, striking the bicyclist, police said. The truck continued into the backyard of a home.
The bicyclist, a man, died at University Medical Center, police said.
Officers found Aguilar-Lujan, who had left on foot, at his home, where he was arrested, police said.
