Road closed while police examine unattended package

Cheyenne Avenue was closed for about two hours this morning while Metro Police investigated an unattended package in front of its Northwest Area Command building, officials said.

The road was closed between North Grand Canyon Drive and Hualapai Way from about 5:45 to 7:45 a.m. Metro’s hazardous materials unit examined the package, which turned out to be nothing dangerous, police said.

Police did not say what was in the package.
