Man shot, killed near Decatur and Flamingo

Updated Monday, Sept. 26, 2016 | 11:52 a.m.

A man was shot and killed early Sunday after walking out of an “unlicensed after-hours club” at a retail business near Decatur Boulevard and Flamingo Road, according to Metro Police.

The incident happened about 6:20 a.m. in a parking lot in the 4200 block of South Decatur Boulevard, Metro Lt. Dan McGrath said.

Officers found the man with multiple gunshot wounds, including one to the head, police said. He was taken to University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Investigation revealed the victim had been in an “unlicensed after-hours club” in a back room of a clothing store, police said. The man’s personal belongings, including jewelry, were scattered about the parking lot, indicating a struggle before the shooting, McGrath said.

The motive for the shooting remains under investigation, and no arrests have been made, police said.

A few people were inside the building at the time of the shooting, but nobody reported hearing gunshots, McGrath said.

The victim’s name will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.

Anyone with any information about the incident is asked to contact the Metro’s homicide section at 702-828-3521 or by email at [email protected]. To remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
